Must-have Additions to Any Home Game Room
Posted on: October 12, 2011
If you’re setting up a game room in your den or basement than there are a few essential things you are going to need to really make it complete. You can’t even call your place a game room until you’ve outfit it with these must-have additions to any great game room. Check out the list today and make sure you’ve got these things to really make your game room the best in the neighborhood.
Dart board
No game room is complete without an old-school dart board. Those new electronic ones just won’t do the trick, if you want to add some personality to your game room you’ve got to have a dart board like the ones you would find in the local dive bar. If you don’t want to leave holes in your walls from missed darts there are some tricks you can do to keep your wall safe with peg boards or if you have a brick wall just place the board on there to keep your nice walls free of holes.
Pinball machine
Much more fun than similarly priced cheap air hockey tables, I have never met anyone in my life who didn’t love a good game of pinball. I grew up playing pinball because my dad had an old school Red Baron pinball machine in our house. I would play that thing for hours, racking up top scores and beating my own personal best. My pinball machine was nothing compared to the ones they have now with ramps all over the place and crazy bonus ball and multi ball prizes. If you really want to have an awesome game room you can find some affordable pinball machines online or through your local for sale listings. You’ll have a blast with your new pinball machine and your game room will nearly be complete.
Arcade machine
One of the more expensive additions but a must-have, a new or old arcade machine is the perfect addition to blow away your friends when they see your game room. People will be so impressed that you actually have an arcade machine in your house that it doesn’t really matter how old or how new the machine is. Even the early 90s machines are a blast to play, and there are even some arcade machines where 4 people can play at once, which will really get the party started. I suggest a game like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or The Simpsons arcade game where a bunch of people can play together so people aren’t just standing around waiting their turn.
